How to Clear Supplies in MA English?

Clearing supplies in MA English can be achieved through the following two phases:

Phase 1: Identifying Root Causes Behind your Supplies

Getting supplies in MA English is a shockingly common trend in Annual System. But you should not be afraid of 1 to 2 supplies in Parts and 1 to 4 supplies in composite. Take your DMS and analyze what worked and ehat did not when attempting the papers (of different subjects). Ask yourself questions like:

1. Did you use headings? (Not a good idea in most subjects except Linguistics and Literary Essays)
2. Was your answer according to the statement of the question asked? (Writing more but irrelevant will not help you in scoring good, writing less but relevant will. )
3. Did your question contained proper introductory and conclusion paragraphs? (Don't write summeries)
4. Was your introduction to a question relevant to the statement asked or you began your answer with the introduction of the author instead of the question? (Do not begin your question with the introduction of an author unless it is explicitly asked by the question)
5. Was the body of your answer just a summery of a literary work? (Not a good idea. The body paragraphs of your answers must spring from the introductory paragraph. Those paragraphs should contain arguments (and counter arguments) with reference to the text)
6. Did you use ample quotes and references from a literary work?
7. Was your handwriting readable?
8. Was your presentation neat and clean?
9. Was your writing free from spelling and grammatical mistakes?
10. Were you not able to manage time? (You must practice writing fast but accurate)
11. Did you copy-pasted the whole question from somewhere else (Current Notes or any writing on the internet) without explaining the question in your own words? (Always combine various sources with your own words. )
12. Did you answered short questions well? (Since answers to the short questions are the very first things an examiner sees. The better you answer short questions, it will leave a better impression on the examiner and will very likely give you good marks in answers to long questions.

In my case, the problem was identified in question 1, 7 and 8. Therefore, I reduced the use of headings in the papers except in questions like "Describe the characteristics of this" and Critical Appreciations, and invested much time in improving my handwriting. The readability of my handwriting was destroyed by the use of ball-point pens. Therefore, I started using pointers again to maintain precision of my handwriting because I am not much in control of the movement of my hand since the joint between my right hand and wrist is fixed.

Phase 2: Request Feedback and Suggestions for Improvement Unique to You

Take any long question and write it in your own words on paper. Take pictures of the pages and send it to the seniors who have passed the exam of MA English and request them feedback. Pay close attention to their feedback and your own discoveries of your shortcomings through the series of questions listed above. Once the root causes of your supplies are identified, ask them for the suggestions of improvement (since everyone's problems/causes are different, it is difficult to cook the same recipe of solution for everyone). If it is possible, request for feedback from multiple people. WhatsApp Groups of MA English are a gold mine of volunteer support in requesting feedback. (Or you can always reach me out in personal/group messages)

You should work sincerely and earnestly on the suggestions offered to you and stay confident and consistent. You shall be able to turn your unexpected failure into a shining example of success just like I did despite permanently injured writing hand and weak eyesight (so can you)!

All the best.
