Subject: Curse of Load-shedding
Sir,
Through the colums of your esateemed daily, I want to draw the attention
of authorities concerned to this massive curse of load-shedding. It is really a matter
of great regret that the supply of electricity goes out for five to ten hours on the
daily bases. The people have become handycamped to flourish their work. They
find it difficult to fulfil a certain task which requires continuous supply of electricity.
Students are much disturbed by the unexpected escape of electricity. They
are unable to complete their homework. The whole scenario directly effects on
their education. When our nation builders are not able to continue their studies
promptly, then how far will Pakistan grow up?
Business persons are also much disturbed from unwanted load-shedding.
Take the example of a tailor. He has a plenty of orders to complet in time. But he
is not able to clock in his business hours, due to load-shedding. Resultantly, his
customers’ orders remain uncompleted and his business goes down on account
of load-shedding.
But the story is not ended yet, there are some other departments of life which
are infected badly by continuous and unwanted load-shedding. Fectories are no
longer able to produce new products, Government offics, banks, big markets, in
short, every side of the square has been lighted with darkness and hopelessness.
That question often pops in our minds that why does load-shedding exist?
The answer is not so difficult. There are not enough dams to power up our electric
system. This carries the need of the hour for the present Government to build new
dams, especially the Kalabagh Dam is essential for a bright Pakistan. I hope that
you will response positively on my lines.
Yours faithfully,
Asad Imran
