Subject: Importance of Tree Plantation
Sir,
With the help of your esteemed newspaper I want to draw the attention of the public and concerned authorities on the importance of trees. Trees are the great blessing of Allah Almighty. Trees are an integral part of a healthy and wealthy country. Unfortunately, the situation in our country is not good for the growth of trees. According to experts, 25% of the land of a country must be covered with trees. But in our country, there is only 5% of consumed land for trees and forests. People and business men are cutting the trees down for their industrial and commercial needs.
The importance of the trees cannot be ignored. They make a patch of land beautiful. But the main thing is that the trees are the saviour of human-beings. Trees protect the air from pollution and generate fresh air. Oxygen (O2), the gas of life comes from trees. Trees are also a source of rain. They make a moderate climate.
In spite of all importance, the people of Pakistan have forgotten about trees. We should grow more trees to fulfil the need of fresh air and to alleviate global warming. Government is doing a good job in promoting the plantation of trees. Now it is the moral duty of the people of to plant as many trees as possible.
