Romance and Reality


Reality is what is actual about something or someone in general while romance is doing something differently what others are not intended to do the same thing, for a short amount of time, and which will escape one from the corruption of life.

For example, Sir Nasir Iqbal is a lecturer of English, that is reality. That reality is accepted by every person. But if he teaches philosophy for some time then it may be regarded as poetry.


Description and Narration


A scene in a drama, novel or in our daily talk is described.

An incident in a drama and a novel is narrated.

Willing suspension of disbelief means to temporarily believe in a scene of a drama, short story or novel without thinking of realism. In short, to temporarily turn the realism into reality.


Novel vs. Drama


Both the genres of literature are made of plot and dialogues, but the way they are composed and performed is different.

Novel

 A novel consists of three major elements, dialogues, characters, narrations and descriptions. Characters are structured via descriptive methods. Their dialogues are adorn via descriptive illustrations of feeling, tone and emotions. Narration plays a key role in construction of plot.

Drama

Drama is mainly based on dialogues and scenes. A typical drama is devoid of any narration or description. We assume the personality of a character through his dialogues with another person and through his aural gestures  and visual appearance (which are directed through stage direction). As a drama is performed on the stage or is broadcasted as a tele-vision programme. Although dramas and plays are regarded as synonyms: there is a slight difference in their implications. A drama is written in dialogues and acts while a play is acted or performed on stage or as a tele-vision show.
